About the role Reporting to the Chef Manager, we are seeking a full time Chef to work in our client's aged care facility.
- Full-time hours with varied start and finish times.
- Weekend and Public Holiday Loadings apply.
- The successful applicant must provide a current Federal Police Check certificate/NDIS clearance, or be willing to apply for one*
Skills and experience
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded.
- Relevant Cert IV level qualification or higher
- Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
- Reliable and punctual
- Collaborative and team player
- Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
- Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
- Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
- High level of QA, WH&S;,
HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
- Must have reliable transport.
Key responsibilities
- Ability to produce high quality meals in line with aged care food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures including low and high care residents.
- Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
- Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
- Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
- Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
