The Role
They are looking for a skilled strategic Communications Manager to join the team at one of their largest hospitals. Having just completed a large scale redevelopment and extension project there is an excellent opportunity to take the lead on new media and communications initiatives.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role where you can utilise your strong experience in crisis communications, reactive media management, and advising senior stakeholders for a business that has a clear purpose. You will be results focussed Monitoring and evaluating communications performance, including sentiment, engagement rates, stakeholder feedback and business outcomes.
Leading one direct report your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the planning and delivery of proactive and reactive external and internal communications, public relations and issues management.
- Develop and deliver multi-channel communications to strengthen brand trust, advocacy and media sentiment.
- Source and generate positive media opportunities that showcase the hospital and the people that make it.
- Manage reactive media enquiries including issue tracking & statements.
- Contribute to the maintenance of hospital website content and support social media activity.
- Coordinate the delivery of the annual report and content for local & national corporate publications.
- Ensure local communications are aligned and integrated with national strategies and priorities.
- Work closely with hospital CEOs, senior executives, clinicians, employees, liaising tightly with public sector health partners and other external healthcare stakeholders on all media and communication initiatives.
About You
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Communications/ Public Relations ideally gained at least in part in the healthcare industry but applications from other complex highly regulated industries are welcomed.
- You will be both strategic and hands-on with solid experience in crisis communications, reactive media management, and working with senior, time-poor stakeholders.
- You will be able to showcase your connections within WA media and have a proven track record building strong brand awareness and positive sentiment through these partnerships.
- You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as highly developed project management skills.
- You will enjoy and bring experience working in complex environments with proven ability to work with confidence with internal and external stakeholders.
