About This Role
We are supporting a growing underground gold operation in Western Australia seeking an experienced Underground Planning Engineer to join its technical services team.
You'll be responsible for delivering practical mine plans and designs while working closely with operations, geology, geotechnical and survey teams to support safe, efficient production and drive continuous operational improvement.
Developing short, medium, and long-term underground mine plans and schedulesPreparing weekly production schedules aligned with operational targetsDesigning underground mine layouts, development plans, and stope designsSupporting drill and blast planning and production activitiesReviewing mine plans and identifying operational risksReconciling planned activities against actual production outcomesWorking closely with underground operations, geology, geotechnical, and survey teamsProviding technical support to improve safety, productivity, and mine performanceContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and planning processes
Requirements
Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or related disciplinePrevious underground hard rock mining experienceExperience within underground gold mining highly desirableExperience in short-term mine planning and schedulingExposure to underground mine design and production planningStrong experience with Deswik or similar mine planning softwareAbility to work collaboratively with operational teams and deliver practical mining solutions
