About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Officer with a focus on environmental management, sustainability and natural area conservation to support the delivery of environmental initiatives and programs that protect and enhance the City's natural environment.
Reporting to the Service Lead Environment and working within the Sustainability Team, this role is responsible for providing specialist environmental advice, coordinating environmental projects and programs, supporting policy and strategy development, and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation and best practice. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive environmental outcomes for the community while supporting biodiversity conservation, natural area management and environmental sustainability across the City.
About you
We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Officer with a focus on environmental management, sustainability and natural area conservation to deliver environmental initiatives,
provide expert advice and help drive positive environmental outcomes across the City.
Besides demonstrated experience, you'll need to have:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and specialised skills.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental management practices, environmental legislation, bushland and wetland management, and environmental planning principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.

Salary and Perks: Starting from Level 7 Step 1 – Step 4 ($115,300 - $122,437 p/a pro-rata) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
