Primary Teacher - Pilbara, Western Australia Full-time | Longer Term or minimum 1 term contract Start Date: Term 3, 2026

Are you a proactive, adaptable and reflective primary teacher who would love the opportunity to teach in a community school in the Pilbara? Do you aspire to teach in a culturally rich school, whilst only living 120 minutes from a city? A remote Aboriginal community school is currently seeking a passionate primary teacher for their Year K - Year 1 class who has a strong knowledge of the curriculum to embrace on-Country learning and project-based Two-way learning through cross-cultural themes.
Located in the Pilbara, approximately 2 hours from Port Hedland, this three-teacher campus supports around 50 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school deeply values and actively builds upon the cultural heritage, language and history of its students, families and community, embedding local knowledge and Elders' wisdom across its programs. Literacy, numeracy and on-Country learning sit at the heart of the curriculum, guided by values of belonging and harmony, equal opportunity, healthy living, honesty, respect, and courage for a solid future.
You'll bring strong classroom management skills and build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. Skilled in foundation literacy and numeracy, you'll also support fine motor development, independence and school readiness - differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning and behavioural needs.
With a growth mindset and genuine commitment to school-wide programs, you'll uphold the school's values with professionalism and integrity, showing initiative while knowing when to seek support.
Ideally with K-1 experience, you'll balance play-based and explicit teaching to help every student build strong foundations and thrive.
This is a full-time position from Term 3, 2026. The school is open to teachers from one term, however, would prefer longer term of a year plus commitment.

- Salary range $91,449 to $127,737per annum

What You Need to Succeed!
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess and/or demonstrate:
- TRBWA registration and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a recognised teaching qualification
- Primary teaching experience
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs, and differentiating instruction to both support and extend learners
- Demonstrated ability to balance play-based and explicit teaching approaches
- Comprehensive curriculum knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good administrative skills
- A collaborative approach with staff and community
- Strong relationship-building and listening skills
- Openness to learning from your students indigenous staff's teaching methods.
Desirable criteria include:
- A current manual driver's licence
- Experience teaching Indigenous students
- ESL/EALD teaching experience
