The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a well-established NSW Government infrastructure team based in Russell Vale on a 6-month contract, with an ASAP start.
This is a backfill chance within a busy delivery team managing bridge works, road infrastructure and maintenance projects across the region. You'll take full ownership of project delivery from investigation and design through to contract administration and close-out.
What you'll be doing
- Managing the full project and delivery process for bridge, road and traffic infrastructure works - direct control and contract works - to time, cost, quality and scope
- Leading the investigation and design process including developing project briefs and cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers
- Preparing contract documents and technical specifications for bridge and road works projects
- Administering contracts and managing service providers to ensure efficient and compliant project delivery
- Implementing cost management systems to ensure efficient financial management across projects
- Applying WHS and environmental management procedures and practices across all projects and contracts
- Monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs to ensure effective use of resources and delivery of agreed objectives
- Occasional travel within the region - up to 1 to 1.5 hours from base
What we're looking for
- Four-year Civil Engineering degree from an Australian university or recognised overseas equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in bridge works, road infrastructure or civil maintenance project delivery
- Experience preparing contract documents and technical specifications for civil infrastructure works
- Sound understanding of project cost management, scheduling and contract administration
- Knowledge of WHS and environmental management requirements on civil infrastructure projects
- Current and valid Australian driver's licence
- Current OHS White Card
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work outside normal hours
