About Us

Mt Barker Chicken is one of Western Australia's leading free-range chicken producers, proudly supplying premium, ethically raised chicken to major retailers, butchers and restaurants across the state. Our processing and further-processing facility in East Rockingham is currently seeking experienced Packing Line Leaders, Machine Operators and Labourers to join our growing team.

About the Role

We currently have full-time and casual opportunities for a Packing Line Leader, Machine Operators and Labourers to join our production team. Each role plays a key part in ensuring our high-quality poultry products are processed safely, efficiently and to strict food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Packing Line Leader

- Lead and coordinate a team on the packing line to meet daily production targets

- Monitor line performance, output and product quality, resolving issues as they arise

- Train, mentor and support team members on correct procedures and safe work practices

- Liaise with supervisors on staffing, scheduling and any production or line issues

- Ensure the team complies with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards

Machine Operator

- Set up, operate and monitor processing and packing machinery to operating procedures

- Conduct routine machine checks, adjustments and basic troubleshooting

- Identify and report equipment faults or malfunctions promptly

- Maintain accurate production and machine performance records

- Follow safe operating procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements

Labourer





- Assist with general process line duties, including packing, sorting and trimming

- Move, stack and transport product and materials as required

- Maintain a clean and tidy work area in line with hygiene standards

- Support other team members across the line as production needs require

- Follow all food safety, quality and WHS procedures

About You

- Previous experience as a packing line leader, machine operator or labourer in a meat, poultry or food processing environment is essential

- Ability to use knives and processing equipment safely and effectively

- Physically fit and able to work in a cold, fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

- Available for early morning starts and flexible shifts, including overtime as required

- Current Australian working rights
