About Rural Health West

Rural Health West aims to improve access to quality healthcare for rural communities through the provision of a highly skilled, motivated and sustainable medical, nursing, midwifery, dental and allied health workforce. We are a not-for-profit organisation primarily funded through WA Country Health Service and the Australian Government Department of Health.

The role: Part-time 0.6 FTE (3 days/week)

As a member of the Workforce Solutions team contribute to the aims, objectives and culture consistent with the values of Rural Health West to ensure all Western Australian communities have ready access to qualified and experienced health professionals. The Practice Sustainability Coordinator who will work collaboratively as part of a team to implement programs that support the viability of practices in rural and remote WA.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with rural and remote general practices across Western Australia to strengthen workforce capability and support long-term sustainability.

- Design, deliver and evaluate workforce attraction and retention initiatives that help practices become employers of choice.

- Monitor workforce programs and performance outcomes, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement and maximise impact.

- Coordinate the end-to-end administration of Practice Support Grants, including assessment, processing, monitoring and reporting.

- Develop, implement and maintain grant-related policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance, consistency and transparency.

- Build strong relationships with general practices, providing tailored support and facilitating access to professional services and resources where required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience,



with demonstrated experience in program delivery, policy application and evaluation.

- Strong understanding of workforce attraction and retention practices, with experience supporting recruitment or workforce initiatives.

- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes.

- Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to build relationships, engage diverse stakeholders and prepare high-quality written reports and resources.

- Experience working with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, with a commitment to inclusive practice.

- A proactive approach and commitment to contributing to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Desirable

- Knowledge of rural and remote Western Australia.

- Understanding of primary health, specifically general practice
