We are seeking an ICT Facilities Officer to support the management, operation and maintenance of critical ICT facilities across ACT Government environments.
This is a hands-on role working across data centres, communications rooms, communications cabinets and associated ICT infrastructure. You will support daily operations, environmental checks, break-fix activities, documentation, and project-based ICT infrastructure work across multiple sites.

The role would suit someone with experience in data centre operations, ICT facilities, communications infrastructure, UPS/power systems, structured cabling, backup media handling or technical infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the management of data centres, communications rooms and ICT facilities infrastructure.
- Complete daily operational and environmental checks across critical ICT sites.
- Support infrastructure relating to UPS systems, generators, air conditioning and communications rooms.
- Monitor and support operational ICT capabilities, including break-fix activities.
- Assist with backup and recovery processes, including storage media management.
- Maintain accurate technical and procedural documentation.
- Support project-based ICT infrastructure activities.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders.




- Participate in an after-hours on-call roster when required.

Skills and experience

- Experience or strong understanding of data centre and communications infrastructure.
- Knowledge of power, UPS, generators, air conditioning, environmental controls and structured cabling.
- Understanding of backup, recovery and storage media management concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain technical documentation.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of WHS requirements in operational or technical environments.

Mandatory requirements

- Australian citizenship.
- NV1 security clearance
- Current Class C driver licence.
- White Card, or ability to obtain.
- Asbestos Awareness Card, or ability to obtain.
- Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Certificate, or ability to obtain.

Experience with DCIM tools, systems monitoring, data backup or restoration products would be highly regarded.
