About the Role

Kista Groups Pty Ltd (T/A Casa De Amor Mexican Bar & Kitchen) is seeking an

experienced and dedicated Cook to join our growing team in Hobart, Tasmania.

This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced,

professional kitchen committed to delivering authentic Mexican cuisine and

exceptional customer experiences. The successful applicant will play a key role in

food preparation, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

1) Prepare, season and cook a variety of authentic Mexican dishes including

tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, nachos, taquitos, grilled meats, seafood dishes,

rice, beans, sauces and other menu items

2) Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place for service.

Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen

operations.

3) Monitor food quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes to maintain

consistency with the restaurant's standards.

4) Prepare ingredients including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, marinades

and garnishes before service.

5) Maintain appropriate food storage, stock rotation and inventory control and

advise the Head Chef or Restaurant Manager of ordering requirements..

6) Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with recipes, kitchen procedures

and customer dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and Vegan options

7) Assist with menu development by providing feedback on recipes, preparation

methods and presentation where required

8) Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen at all times.

9) Follow all Food Safety Standards and workplace health and safety

procedures.

10) Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards.

11) Assist with menu preparation and contribute ideas for seasonal specials





where appropriate.

12) Work collaboratively with chefs and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient

service and customer satisfaction

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant must have:

1) At least 1 years of full-time work experience as a Cook in a commercial

kitchen; or

2) A qualification equivalent to at least an Australian Certificate IV in Commercial

Cookery or another relevant discipline

3) Experience working in a busy restaurant environment.

4) Strong organisational and time management skills.

5) Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.

6) A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality and

customer service.

7) Current Food Safety knowledge. Food Safety Supervisor certification will be

highly regarded.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $80,500.00 per year
