The Opportunity
We are seeking an astute Director of Strategic ICT Sourcing to step into a career-defining, high-profile $30M enterprise digital transformation program that is currently entering its most critical delivery phase.
This is not a business-as-usual role. It is a fast-paced, highly visible chance requiring a seasoned professional who can rapidly digest complex existing project documentation, navigate fluid stakeholder environments, and maintain rigorous momentum against demanding timelines.
Operating within a newly updated territory governance landscape, you will serve as the commercial anchor—balancing strict public sector probity with pragmatic, agile tech delivery.
Key Responsibilities

- Drive Strategic Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end procurement of enterprise ICT solutions, complex SaaS platforms, and digital integrations.
- Maintain Delivery Momentum: Advance active, high-value market approaches, evaluations, and robust commercial negotiations against tight program milestones.
- Executive Advisory: Partner directly with senior leadership and Digital Canberra to deliver highly defensible, value-for-money outcomes.
- Governance & Probity: Ensure absolute alignment with public sector procurement legislation, creating bulletproof executive briefs and board submissions.
- Team & Culture Uplift:



Collaborate across diverse organizational cultures to unify project teams, manage vendor relationships, and stabilize delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

- Government ICT Expertise: Extensive experience managing complex technology procurements (Cloud, SaaS, enterprise architecture) within a government or highly regulated sector.
- ACT Framework Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Procurement ACT legislation, Territory frameworks, and panel mechanisms (e.g., VendorPanel) is highly advantageous.
- Commercial Acumen: A proven track record of managing high-value RFTs, contract variations, and complex supplier negotiations.
- Resilience in Ambiguity: Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment when entering active, fast-paced projects with competing priorities.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional written skills with a background in drafting sophisticated procurement artifacts and ministerial/executive briefings.

Engagement Details

- Classification: SOG B – SOG A equivalent.
- Location: Canberra (Hybrid arrangement with a preference for regular on-site presence to drive team culture).
- Duration: Initial contract covering a critical procurement phase, with strong extension potential subject to program milestones.
