About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and organised Purchasing Officer to support the day-to-day purchasing and logistics activities across our group of companies. This role suits someone with solid experience in purchasing who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
You will assist with processing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, supporting import activities, and maintaining accurate data within our systems. Training and ongoing support will be provided, but previous experience in a purchasing environment is essential.
This is a full time position based 5 days a week in our Somersby office.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in a Purchasing or Procurement support role.
- A good understanding of basic P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes.
- Some experience with import or shipping documentation (desired but not essential).
- Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- A willingness to learn a diverse product range and adapt quickly.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain purchase orders, including updating delivery dates and following up with suppliers.
- Communicate delays or changes to internal teams.
- Support import operations, including preparing basic documentation and liaising with freight partners.
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels and meeting purchasing requirements using MRP tools.
- Obtain quotations and help identify suitable supply sources.
- Coordinate with internal departments and operating businesses’ to ensure purchasing activities align with operational needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to support procurement and logistics processes.
