The Opportunity

St Joseph’s School Hectorville is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Officer to join our dynamic team, predominantly working in Upper Primary classes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teachers and fostering a positive learning environment for students in their final years of primary school. If you are passionate about education, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with students in Year 4 - 6, we encourage you to apply.

The permanent hours offered are:

- Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Friday is mandatory & other days can be negotiated)

- 9:00am – 3:00pm

- 16.5 hours per week during 40 school term weeks

Some additional hours may be offered from time to time, depending on need and availability.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide support to teachers in delivering lessons, including preparing materials, managing classroom activities, and assisting students as needed.

- Support a secure, orderly, and successful learning environment through the implementation of behavioural management strategies.

About You

- Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent

- Experience supporting student learning and participation in a school or educational setting





- Ability to support learning and engagement for students through individual and small-group approaches

- Ability to adapt support to students' diverse learning, communication, sensory and wellbeing needs

- Commitment to enabling students to access learning, build on their strengths, and participate meaningfully in the school community

- Understanding of inclusive and strengths-based practices that promote student belonging
