We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to manage procurement activities, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and purchasing processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available when needed, inventory levels are optimised, and procurement processes continue to improve.

About the Role
As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and issuing purchase orders while maintaining effective supplier relationships and supporting inventory management activities. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials required to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and place purchase orders for materials and production-related items.
- Coordinate stock transfers and replenishment activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
- Expedite outstanding purchase orders and returns to maintain supply chain performance.
- Maintain accurate supplier and product information within the ERP system.
- Monitor supplier performance, including delivery, quality, pricing, and product changes.
- Update supplier pricing and assist with cost and financial impact analysis.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, quality, and finance teams to resolve supply and inventory issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and inventory management processes.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:





- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- Proven supplier negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and general MS Office proficiency.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team setting.
- A commercial mindset with a focus on cost awareness and waste reduction.
- Knowledge of global shipping or supply chain processes would be highly regarded.

- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
