The OpportunityOCRT is seeking a Procurement & Finance Specialist to support cost management, budgeting and procurement functions across Defence programs. This role sits at the intersection of financial governance and program delivery, providing accurate financial data, cost analysis and procurement advice that underpins sound decision-making on complex, mission-critical projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and maintain financial records to agreed requirements for compliance and auditIdentify and calculate process, service, project and component costs for financial planning and budgetingCollate financial data and reports to support analysis and decision-makingSupport procurement activities including sourcing, tendering and vendor/contract managementProvide advice on commercial and contractual arrangements in line with Commonwealth procurement frameworksBuild and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across finance, procurement and delivery teamsIdentify and manage financial and commercial risks, escalating issues where requiredEnsure compliance with legislative,



policy and regulatory frameworks governing Commonwealth procurement and financial management
What We're Looking For
Essential:Demonstrated experience in financial management, cost analysis or budgeting within a government or Defence environmentExperience supporting procurement processes, including sourcing, contract management and vendor engagementSound understanding of Commonwealth procurement rules and financial governance frameworks (CPRs, PGPA Act or equivalent)Robust stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate financial and commercial information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable:Experience working within Defence or a national security agencyFamiliarity with AusTender and Commonwealth contract management systemsRelevant qualifications in finance, commerce or procurement (CPA, CA, CIPS or equivalent)
Role DetailsLocation: Canberra, ACTWorking arrangements: HybridContract duration: 12 months + up to 2 x 12-month extensions
