The Bushfire Mitigation Officer is a newly established 2 year position responsible for supporting the delivery of the City’s bushfire resilience and preparedness initiatives, with a primary focus on the RACT Bushfire Resilience Pilot Project and implementation of the Bushfire Management Strategy 2022.
Working closely with residents, emergency services, contractors, and internal stakeholders, this role will coordinate property-level bushfire assessments, community engagement activities, fire hazard abatement programs, and vegetation and verge management works.
The position will play a key role in improving community preparedness, reducing bushfire risk, and strengthening the City’s capacity to deliver effective bushfire mitigation outcomes. The role is also responsible for monitoring project progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing reporting and evaluation to support continuous improvement and future resilience initiatives.
