About the Role:
As the Senior Town Planner, you will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused planning service by providing expert advice and guidance to applicants, stakeholders, and the wider community.
In this role you will use your technical expertise to support complex planning and subdivision applications, build positive relationships, and help achieve well-considered planning outcomes that benefit our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of planning reports and subdivision applications.
- Undertake the assessment of planning permit applications and amendments to existing planning permits as delegated.
- Undertake strategic planning projects in collaboration with Coordinator Planning and Manager Planning and Investment.
- Prepare and present submissions on behalf of Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- An understanding of the Victorian planning system, including the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the format of operation of planning schemes under the Victorian Planning Provisions.
- Knowledge of Local Government functions, legislation and regulations relevant to the position.
- An understanding of relevant planning and development principles, policy and legislation, to provide information and service to internal and external customers and regulators.
