The Illawarra Academy of Sport (IAS) is seeking Athlete Services Officers to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality athlete development programs across the Illawarra and NSW South-East regions.This role is responsible for coordinating athlete services, events, camps, communications, program administration, and stakeholder engagement to ensure athletes, coaches, and families receive an exceptional experience throughout their academy journey.
About the RoleReporting to the Head of Athlete Development, the Athlete Services Officer provides operational and administrative support across a broad range of athlete programs. Working closely with athletes, coaches, State Sporting Organisations, schools, community partners, and service providers, you'll help create development opportunities that support both sporting success and personal growth.
What Success Looks LikeThe successful candidate will: ✅ Deliver well-organised athlete programs, workshops, camps and events.✅ Maintain solid relationships with athletes, families, coaches and sporting partners.✅ Ensure timely, professional and effective communication across all programs.✅ Manage records, reporting and program data with a high level of accuracy.✅ Coordinate logistics efficiently, ensuring seamless program delivery.✅ Contribute to a positive athlete experience that drives engagement, satisfaction and pathway progression.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role includes:Coordinating athlete development programs and services.Supporting coaches and support staff through scheduling, onboarding and communications.Managing athlete and parent communications.Planning and delivering camps, workshops and development events.Coordinating travel, accommodation, venues and operational logistics.Maintaining athlete,



coach and program databases and records.Assisting with stakeholder engagement and partnership activities.Creating content for newsletters, social media and athlete stories.Supporting reporting, compliance, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking ForWe're seeking a highly organised and passionate individual with:Skills & CapabilitiesStrong organisational and time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication.Relationship-building and stakeholder management experience.Attention to detail and administrative excellence.Initiative, problem-solving ability and adaptability.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.Education & ExperienceQualifications or experience in sport administration, business administration, project management or a related field.Experience in administration, event coordination or program delivery.Experience working within sport, recreation, education or community organisations (desirable).Knowledge of athlete development pathways and the Australian sporting system (desirable).Experience with communications, social media or content creation (desirable).RequirementsCurrent Working With Children Check.Current Driver's Licence.Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
