About the role As a Team Leader Planning Services Business Support at Yarra Ranges Council, you will lead and support a high-performing business support team, ensuring the delivery of responsive, customer-focused services that meet legislative and organisational requirements within a dynamic Planning Services environment.As a member of the Planning Services leadership team, you will drive the development and implementation of streamlined business systems, provide specialist advice, and contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness. You will foster a collaborative, values-driven culture while supporting Council’s business continuity and emergency management responsibilities during times of crisis.This role has up to 7 direct reports. The location of this role is Lilydale, Victoria.This is a 12-month full-time temporary position (38 hours per week). This is a Band 6 role with an hourly rate between $49.81 and $54.29 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for • Lead, mentor and develop the Planning Services Business Support team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture that reflects Council’s values and delivers exceptional customer service outcomes.• Provide coaching, guidance and constructive feedback to support individual growth, build capability, and ensure team members have the knowledge and skills required to perform effectively.• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of business support functions, ensuring work is prioritised, organised and completed efficiently to meet business objectives, service standards and legislative requirements.• Analyse information, identify issues and opportunities for improvement,



and make informed decisions that support effective service delivery and continuous improvement across Planning Services.• Delegate responsibilities appropriately, empowering team members to take ownership of their work while maintaining accountability, productivity and quality outcomes.• Drive operational excellence by setting clear performance expectations, monitoring progress against goals, and leading the development and implementation of streamlined business processes and systems to improve efficiency and customer experience.• Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.If you have some but not all these skills or experience, we still encourage you to apply.
