About this Role:

The Cross Keys is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality pub meals and smooth kitchen operations. This hands-on role is ideal for a strong team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards and supporting the development of the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

- Assist and support the Head Chef in all aspects of the business;
- Lead by example and ensure all procedures (health and safety, food handling, hotel policies) are maintained to the required standard and are being followed by all kitchen staff;
- Relay important information to the Head Chef and Management;
- Effective communication towards Front of House staff;
- Strong time management through effective planning;
- Maintain a high level of productivity;
- Motivate and develop team members through positive attitude and actions;
- Participate in the development of creative dishes for menu;
- Assist in ordering, cost controlling and waste management;
- Support decisions made and adapt to change,



showing flexibility and enthusiasm; and
- Proactive in self-development.

About You

- Minimum Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery;
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role;
- Hard-working, resilient and positive attitude is a must;
- Looking to grow your culinary career in a fast -growing hospitality group; and
- Full Australian work rights.
