Pioneer Settlement | Swan Hill | Permanent Part time Weekend Position

The Pioneer Settlement is seeking a friendly and motivated Visitor Experience Officer to join our team. This exciting weekend role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with visitors, promoting local tourism experiences and creating memorable experiences for guests.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in welcoming guests to the Pioneer Settlement and the Swan Hill Visitor Information Centre. You will provide information about local attractions, process bookings and ticket sales, and help visitors make the most of their time in our region.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Welcome and assist visitors to the Pioneer Settlement.
- Provide information on local attractions, events, accommodation and dining options.
- Process bookings, ticket sales and souvenir purchases.
- Promote visitor experiences including the Pyap Paddle Steamer and Heartbeat of the Murray.
- Undertake reception and general administrative duties.
- Balance tills and complete daily reconciliations.
- Maintain visitor information displays and brochure stock.
- Assist with the security and presentation of the Tourism and Cultural Hub.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Pioneer Settlement team.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in customer service, reception, tourism, administration or a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Confidence using computers, EFTPOS systems and cash handling procedures.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the Swan Hill region or the ability to quickly develop local tourism knowledge.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Valid and satisfactory Working with Children Check (Employee type)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Year 12 or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- A National Police Check will be conducted on the preferred applicant.
What we offer
- Weekend-only work. Enjoy flexibility and keep your weekdays free, with alternating weekends.
- Permanent part-time position working 14 hours per fortnight, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
- Hourly rate of $33.12 + 15% super.
