Operations Manager – Web Offset Printing

TMA Group is an Australian-owned multinational specialising in print, print management, technology, and logistics solutions. Established in 1982, we employ over 500 staff across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and the United States. Our warehouse operation is the engine room of our customer promise, and we're looking for a hands-on leader to run it at despatch.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of our web offset printing operations. Your day-to-day will include:

- Managing daily production to hit output targets, quality standards and delivery schedules

- Planning production schedules to maximise press uptime and minimise downtime

- Supervising printing, finishing and support teams and driving productivity

- Monitoring KPIs — OEE, waste, spoilage, on-time delivery and labour productivity

- Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance with engineering

- Developing SOPs and leading lean/continuous improvement initiatives

- Ensuring WHS and environmental compliance across the plant

- Managing staffing, training, performance and development of your teams

- Working closely with sales, customer service, prepress, procurement and logistics

- Monitoring inventory of paper, inks, plates and consumables

- Preparing operational reports, production analyses and budget forecasts

About You

- 5–10 years' experience in commercial web printing, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role

- Strong technical knowledge of web offset and sheetfed processes, press operations,



finishing and bindery

- Experience with production planning, estimating, lean manufacturing and quality management systems

- Proficient with ERP/MIS systems and Microsoft Office

- A confident leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Highly regarded:

- Experience with high-volume web offset presses (newspaper, publication, packaging or commercial colour)

- Familiarity with colour management systems, ISO quality standards and Lean/Six Sigma

- Experience implementing automation or digital workflow solutions
