Contract until December 2026 | Part-time - up to 24 hours per week (days and hours negotiable)
About the Role
Wangarang is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant or Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team on a part time fixed-term basis through to December 2026. This role has been created to provide additional operational support while members of our finance team focus on the implementation of a new finance system. You’ll play an important role in ensuring day-to-day accounting, payroll and reporting activities continue to be delivered accurately and efficiently within a values-driven Community/NDIS organisation based in Orange, NSW.
We can offer flexibility around days per week or reduced daily hours to suit the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist with month-end activities, reconciliations and reporting
● Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and coordinate related workflow
● Assist with payroll processing
● Prepare cashflow reporting
● Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
● Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and workflows
● Provide ad-hoc administrative and project support where required
About You
Essential
● Proven experience in a similar Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant or Bookkeeper role
● Solid understanding of reconciliations, month-end processes and AP/AR functions
● Payroll processing experience
● Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
● A proactive approach to identifying and improving finance processes
● Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a part-time capacity
Highly Desirable
● Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
● Experience with Attaché Payroll
