Pohlmans Nursery is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Supervisor to join our Trees & Shrubs Division. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who combines plant knowledge with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to supporting both people and operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Division Manager, you will play a key role in supervising daily field operations, coordinating team activities, and ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational priorities are consistently achieved. You will work closely with the Division Manager to support the successful operation of one of our most important growing divisions.

This is a highly active role that requires someone who enjoys being outdoors, working alongside their team, and leading from the front.

What You'll Be Doing

- Supervising day-to-day activities across the Trees & Shrubs Division

- Coordinating field teams to ensure work plans and production targets are achieved

- Monitoring productivity, quality, safety and operational performance

- Supporting, coaching and training team members

- Assisting with workforce planning, daily priorities and resource allocation

- Proactively identifying and resolving operational issues before they impact production

- Communicating effectively with key stakeholders across the nursery

- Providing ongoing support to the Division Manager and stepping up when required

- Maintaining high standards of biosecurity, quality and workplace safety





What We're Looking For
Essential

- Strong plant knowledge, particularly Australian natives, shrubs and tree stock

- Previous experience in horticulture, production nursery operations, or a similar field-based environment

- Physically fit and capable of working at pace throughout the day

- Comfortable working outdoors in exposed conditions across all seasons

- Ability to supervise, motivate and develop teams

- Strong organisational and communication skills

- Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational demands

- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to support the Division Manager wherever needed

Highly Regarded

- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

- Nursery production experience

- Understanding of horticultural quality standards and plant health

- Experience using operational systems, task lists or production planning tools
