We are seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter / Maintenance Planner to join our growing marine service business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys working closely with technicians, suppliers, and customers to ensure parts availability, efficient scheduling, and successful project delivery.

Working within a busy marine workshop environment, you will play a key role in supporting vessel maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and new installation projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret parts requirements from service teams and technical documentation

- Source and procure parts, components, and consumables

- Develop and maintain maintenance and service schedules

- Coordinate workshop parts requirements and inventory levels

- Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules

- Prepare quotations and cost estimates for customers

- Manage purchase orders, freight logistics, and supplier relationships





- Support workshop planning to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time

- Maintain accurate records within the company management system

About You

- Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter, Service Advisor, Maintenance Planner, or similar role

- Robust mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines and associated systems

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and parts catalogues

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- High attention to detail with strong computer skills

- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Desirable Experience

Experience or product knowledge in any of the following will be highly regarded:

- Volvo Penta

- Yanmar

- Marine diesel engines

- Marine propulsion systems

- Heavy diesel, industrial, mining, agricultural, or automotive equipment industries
