YOUR ROLE, HONESTLY
This position is a critical part of our team and while the role involves day-to-day gear management, we are specifically looking for a candidate with strong AV and Broadcast skills to ensure our systems remain operational and always supported. Experience and an interest in video editing / post-production is a strong bonus.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Gear & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the handling, check-out and return of FTV equipment using our rental software, as well as performing routine maintenance and checks to ensure all equipment meets professional standards.
Student Support:
- Act as a professional point of contact for students, providing guidance on gear usage (specifically editing software) and enforcing industry etiquette.
Technical AV & Broadcast:
- Maintain and troubleshoot internal event AV systems to ensure the high-quality delivery of workshops, panels and events.
Workshop Facilitation:
- Confidently lead technical workshops on a range of equipment, primarily post-production facilities and software, for groups of 15–20 students.
Educational Resources:
- Use your technical skills to create resources and gear tutorials, primarily focused on post-production, for student learning.
Administrative:
- Carry out routine administrative tasks, including documentation checks, data entry, and maintaining accurate records.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce OHS policies and ensure students operate equipment safely on campus and on set.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Strong team ethic, excellent communication skills and excitement to work in a team consisting of creative individuals.
- A minimum of 2 years of Film & TV, AV, broadcast, or live production industry experience, preferably in post-production is essential.
- Software Proficiency: Avid, DaVinci, Premiere & Pro Tools
- Ability to commit to a 5 day per week schedule.
- Comfortable supervising student groups and explaining complex technical concepts clearly.
- A commitment to upholding high industry standards and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Ability to proactively identify and take on tasks, and completing them accurately, even when not directly prompted.
- Strong attention to detail regarding production and post production paperwork and asset tracking.
- Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in film and/or television or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Have a Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

REPORTS TO: FTV Facilities Supervisor
TYPE: Full time, Permanent.
SALARY: Competitive, commensurate with experience; we’ll talk specifics early in the process.
