The Opportunity
The Quality & Education Manager will lead the home in relation to quality care and services, ensuring governance, compliance, and team competency align with the Aged Care Quality Standards. The role involves identifying improvement opportunities, providing hands-on support to remediate gaps, and coaching the leadership team for long-term sustainability.
Main duties include:
- Providing quality-focused leadership and coaching
- Guiding documentation and recording practices to ensure care and services meet expected outcomes
- Developing team members' understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and their own scope of practice
- Identifying skills and knowledge gaps and creating development plans to address them
- Ensuring the care home and team are prepared for Commission Entry Questions and other preparedness activities
- Maintaining the Plan for Continuous Improvement (PCI) in collaboration with the leadership team, meeting monthly with the GM and Clinical Care Managers to track progress
- Completing month-end Quality Indicator Reports, analysing data and translating insights into PCI actions
- Ensuring NQIP data is submitted on time, analysed, and any improvements documented and actioned
- Coordinating completion of monthly Care Home Audits within the Operations Essential audit program
- Overseeing delivery of high-quality, person-centred clinical care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with policy, legislation and privacy requirements
What's Required
- Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification in Aged Care and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) desirable
- Proven track record delivering quality clinical care, coaching, and training
- Ability to foster a team environment and build collaborative relationships
- Robust communication, leadership, and relationship management skills
- Solid understanding of Resident Rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards
