Product QA Analyst
Three-month fixed-term contract

$80,000 plus super, annualised and paid pro rata

About the opportunity An innovative technology start-up is looking for a hands-on Product QA Analyst to help ensure its web and mobile software performs reliably before it reaches customers.
The primary purpose of this role is to test the product thoroughly, create repeatable test processes and produce reliable evidence that can support the company’s growing automation capability.
This is not a role for someone who simply follows instructions and records an outcome. You will be expected to think critically, identify gaps, question unexpected behaviour and speak up when something does not look right.
You will join a small, collaborative team where everyone rolls up their sleeves, supports one another and contributes beyond the boundaries of a traditional job description.

What you will do

- Create, maintain and manage detailed test cases, use cases and test scripts
- Perform hands-on functional, exploratory and regression testing
- Test the company’s web application and mobile app across iOS or Android
- Record test sessions, including the exact sequence of actions performed
- Clearly document expected results, actual results and supporting evidence
- Ensure testing processes and outcomes are consistent and repeatable
- Identify product defects, missing scenarios, edge cases and unclear requirements
- Determine whether an unexpected result relates to the product or the test scenario
- Retest resolved defects and confirm whether fixes are working as expected
- Validate the manual use cases that will feed into future test automation
- Provide clear testing outputs to support decisions about moving work through testing environments
- Work closely with the COO, CTO and engineering team

You will be responsible for the accuracy and reliability of your testing output.



Final decisions about progressing work between environments will sit with the appropriate product or operational owner.

About you
You will ideally have:

- Around two to four years of software testing or quality assurance experience
- Strong hands-on manual testing experience
- Experience creating and managing test cases, rather than only executing existing scripts
- Experience testing web applications
- Mobile application testing experience across iOS or Android, with both highly regarded
- Strong functional, regression and exploratory testing skills
- Experience documenting defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps or a similar issue-tracking platform
- Some understanding of test automation and how high-quality manual use cases support it
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail

Experience with SaaS products, construction technology, compliance software or another regulated industry would be useful, but is not essential.
