ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor in Wellington. This company specializes in complex projects and is preparing for a major infrastructure development in the region.
About the Role You will lead the commercial function, driving financial performance and strategic growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing commercial strategies to support business objectives.
- Identifying new opportunities to expand revenue streams.
- Managing contracts, negotiations, and supplier relationships.
- Overseeing budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
- Leading and mentoring the commercial team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in civil construction.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Background in Quantity Surveying and cost management.
- Experience with various contract types and fiscal project management (subcontractor management, claims, variations, progress reporting).
- Ideally, experience with JDE systems.
