The Opportunity
Join Aurizn in supporting mission-critical Defence aviation systems that enable operational planning and mission readiness across Australian Defence capabilities.
Based at RAAF Base Amberley, this role combines ICT systems administration, operational support, stakeholder engagement, and training delivery within a dynamic Defence environment.
Working closely with Defence personnel and industry partners, you will help maintain, secure, and continuously improve specialised operational ICT systems, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of technology that supports critical Defence outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and Defence operations while contributing to nationally significant capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administer and maintain specialised ICT systems in collaboration with Defence stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across both fixed and deployed environments.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with Defence clients and industry partners to gather, communicate, and implement requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Defence security policies, accreditation requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Manage system access, patching, software updates, and compliance activities.
- Support system audits, accreditation, and governance processes.
- Develop and deliver user training, technical briefings, and refresher sessions.
- Undertake occasional travel in support of Defence activities and training exercises (approximately 1–2 trips per year of up to two weeks).
What we’re seeking:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
- Current NV2 Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting Defence ICT, aviation, mission systems, communications, intelligence, or other operational technology environments.
- Solid stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Defence and industry.
- Experience delivering technical training, user support, or system briefings.
- Knowledge of Defence security requirements, secure ICT environments, or operational support practices is highly regarded.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
