About the role

NE GLOBAL ENTERPRISES PTY LTD is seeking a dedicated Freight Handler to join our team in Mossman, QLD 4873. This is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in our logistics and transport operations. As a Freight Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, and movement of freight throughout our facility. This role is essential to ensuring that goods are processed quickly and accurately, maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect. The position also offers hours outside of ordinary business hours and could suit someone with existing employment looking for some extra work.

Key responsibilities

1. Loading and unloading freight from delivery vehicles, ensuring all items are handled safely and carefully

2. Sorting and organising freight according to destination, priority, and handling requirements

3. Operating material handling equipment such as a walkie stacker, pallet jacks, and hand trolleys to move freight efficiently

4. Inspecting freight for damage, ensuring items are in acceptable condition before processing

5. Maintaining accurate records of freight received, sorted, and dispatched

6. Adhering to all health and safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment

7. Assisting in the organisation and maintenance of the warehouse or dispatch area

8. Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding freight status and any issues

9. Meeting deadlines and performance targets whilst maintaining quality standards

What we're looking for

1. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry freight regularly, with a capacity to move items weighing up to 20 kg or more

2. Experience in freight handling, warehouse operations, or a similar logistics role is preferred

3.



Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and organising freight

4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet delivery deadlines

5. Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with both drivers and supervisors

6. Reliability and a robust work ethic, with the ability to maintain punctuality and consistency

7. Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to freight handling

8. Basic computer literacy for recording and tracking freight information
