About the role

Murdoch Endodontics Pty Ltd is expanding and is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in O'Connor, WA 6163, this role is essential to the smooth operation of our endodontic practice. As a Dental Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, managing appointments, patient interactions, and administrative tasks that ensure our practice runs efficiently. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work (2 to 3 days per week) whilst allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to our dental healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

1. Greeting patients and welcoming them to the practice in a warm and professional manner

2. Managing the appointment scheduling system and optimising the daily schedule to maximise efficiency

3. Handling patient inquiries via phone, email and in person with courtesy and professionalism

4. Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate patient records and files

5. Managing accounts and processing patient payments, including invoicing and Healthpoint transactions

6. Coordinating health insurance claim submissions and liaising with health funds on behalf of patients

7. Supporting the clinical team by preparing treatment areas and ensuring sterilisation protocols are followed

8. Answering multi-line telephone systems and directing calls appropriately

9. Performing data entry and maintaining detailed administrative records

10. Contributing to a positive patient experience and helping to build strong patient relationships

Editing and finalising reports regarding patient treatment

12. Chairside dental assisting in situations of need where there is an absence of staff due to sickness or holidays etc

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience working as a dental / health/ medical receptionist in a health practice environment. Experience as a dental nurse is desirable but not essential.

2. Knowledge of dental terminology and understanding of endodontic procedures

3. Proficiency with dental practice management software and computer systems and typing

4. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively

5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

6. A professional and courteous demeanour with exceptional customer service abilities

7. Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling patient information and financial record

8. Ability to work collaboratively with referring dentists and other team members

9. Knowledge of privacy legislation and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality

10. Familiarity with health fund processes and billing procedures

11. A genuine interest in providing excellent patient care and support
