About the role

As Self-Service Product Lead, you will lead the design, development and continuous improvement of NCVER's self-service analytical products, visualisation platforms and digital data experiences.

This is a strategic and hands-on specialist role responsible for leading the delivery of trusted, intuitive and high-value self-service products that enable government, training providers, researchers and other stakeholders to confidently access, understand and apply national VET data for evidence-based decision-making.

You will develop expertise in NCVER's collections, surveys, classifications, calculations and statistical methodologies, ensuring complex VET data is accurately represented through high-quality self-service products.

You will coach and mentor a team of analysts and visualisation specialists while contributing to the development of:

- Dashboards and visualisations

- Self-service reporting and analytical products

- Digital and web-based data experiences

- Insights, measures and business rules

- Methodology guidance and explanatory content

- AI-enabled self-service capabilities

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will require the following skills and experience:

- 5+ years' hands-on experience developing dashboards, reports and analytical products using platforms such as Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud, Power BI or similar technologies.





- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with experience working across large and complex datasets.

- Demonstrated experience designing and managing visualisation platforms, products and architectures, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise data and technology ecosystems.

- Proven ability to plan, lead and deliver complex visualisation, product modernisation and platform migration initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience working with complex datasets and translating data into meaningful insights, visualisations and decision-support tools.

- Extensive experience working with stakeholders to understand user needs and translate requirements into high-value self-service solutions.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex data and methodological concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Experience leading, coaching and mentoring analysts or product specialists in a collaborative team environment.

Appointment details

- 2 year fixed-term, full time role based in Adelaide (candidates in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra may be considered with travel to Adelaide required).
