Legal Counsel | Infrastructure & Renewable Energy | 2-8 PQE

A leading player in the infrastructure and renewable energy space is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team, working across contracts, project delivery, and risk management for some of Australia's key energy transition projects.

This is a genuine opportunity to build your career at the intersection of construction law and the clean energy build-out, working on EPC and D&C; contracting for wind, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

- Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, and subcontractor agreements across infrastructure and renewable energy projects
- Provide strategic legal advice on project delivery issues, contract interpretation, risk allocation, and dispute avoidance
- Advise on claims, variations, extensions of time, and other project-related contractual matters
- Partner with commercial, engineering, and procurement teams to keep projects aligned with contractual and regulatory obligations
- Help shape and improve contract templates and contracting procedures




- Identify and manage legal risk in line with corporate governance frameworks
- Manage external legal counsel efficiently where needed
- Track legislative and regulatory developments across safety, environment, and energy market compliance
- Provide training and guidance to project and commercial teams on key legal principles

What you'll bring:

- 3-8 PQE ideally in construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy (in-house or private practice)
- Strong grounding in construction and contract law, particularly EPC and D&C; models
- Exposure to renewables or energy transition projects such as wind, BESS, or transmission
- A track record of drafting and negotiating complex contracts with transparent, commercial advice
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and comfort working within multidisciplinary project teams
