The secret ingredient in every single dish served in our restaurant is a pinch of hard work behind the scenes. We’re looking for a Kitchen Steward to help our chefs make every dish memorable by setting and maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchens.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment
- Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
- Receiving and organising deliveries to the kitchen
- Supporting the chefs and other kitchen staff in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing
- Removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes
What we need from you:
- A passion for delivering great service
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Previous experience in a hotel workplace beneficial
- Experience working as part of a team and working to deadlines
- It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day,
so attention to safe manual handling is a must; including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and you may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
- High standard of cleanliness and safety at work
- The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Compliance - must hold a Food Safety Certificate
- Meet the legal requirement to work in Australia without limitations or restrictions
