About the Lake Macdonald Dam Improvement Project
The Lake Macdonald Dam is located in the Noosa hinterland and is part of the South East Queensland drinking water supply operated by Seqwater.
John Holland has been awarded the contract to undertake the largest upgrade to the dam since its installation in 1965 as part of the Seqwater Dam Improvement Project. The upgrade will include but not be limited to:
- Pre‑construction approvals, procurement and site establishment
- Lake lowering and aquatic salvage
- Installation of upstream cofferdam
- Cofferdam, spillway demolition and working platform
- Dam construction
- Reinstatement, rehabilitation and demobilisation
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Project Engineering and Supervisory team to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements from a cost and time perspective.
- Significant input in managing project quality systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping.
- Planning and programming.
- Assist with procurement and supplier management.
- Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on risk management.
Qualifications
- Degree‑qualified civil engineer with at least 12 months post‑qualification experience.
- Understanding of contemporary practices in construction methodology on civil infrastructure projects.
- Confident communicator.
- Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation.
- Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures.
