Position Overview

Professional 3 - Remuneration Package Range $134,618 - $150,549 (including salary $114,199 - $127,898).

Location : Katherine, Northern Territory. Vacancy : One fixed full‑time vacancy available for up to 12 months.

Responsibilities

- Make a difference to the lives of the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services.
- Undertake complex and rewarding clinical and operational work.
- Experience the uniqueness of living and working in the Big Rivers Region.
- Participate in a 24/7 wellbeing response framework.
- Provide specialist advice on psychosocial risk, behavioural concerns, welfare issues.
- Deliver training on psychoeducation and mental health promotion relevant to a first‑responder workforce.

Qualifications

- Hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Psychology.
- Be eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Australian Psychological Society (APS) or Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).




- Have a robust understanding of the principles and functions of working in first‑responder or domestic and family violence contexts.
- Possess demonstrated experience delivering psychosocial assessments, therapeutic intervention and case management of individuals experiencing trauma, mental health concerns or complex social issues.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, and communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
