Terrain Park Volunteer (Unpaid position)

Buller Ski Lifts is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Terrain Park team in a volunteer capacity. This is a labour-intensive, hands-on role supporting the daily operation of Mt Buller’s Terrain Parks and contributing to a safe, progressive, and enjoyable experience for all park users.

Working under the direction of Terrain Park staff, volunteers will assist with daily operational tasks including park set-up and closure, feature monitoring, guest education, and general maintenance. This role requires a robust commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service, as well as the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer position. Applicants must have their own accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in providing a safe, progressive, and well-maintained terrain park environment
- Support daily opening and closing procedures of the terrain park
- Assist with monitoring and testing features, identifying hazards, and reporting risks to Terrain Park staff
- Ensure all signage, branding, safety fencing, rope lines, promotional flags, and banners are clearly visible and maintained to a high standard
- Perform general housekeeping duties within the terrain park
- Educate guests on terrain park etiquette and safe feature use
- Deliver friendly, professional guest service at all times
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment

Skills, Experience & Availability

- Ability to commit to a minimum of 12 days (approximately one day per week) between the June/July school holidays and the end of the winter season
- Confident working outdoors in adverse winter weather conditions
- Minimum 18 years of age
- General terrain park experience and understanding
- Physically capable of lifting up to 20kg, including raking, shovelling, and lifting heavy objects
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to follow direction from Terrain Park staff
- Applicants must have their own accommodation
