The Crafers Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team.

With a reputation built on quality, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality, we are looking for a dedicated hospitality professional who is driven by excellence and ready to play a key role in the continued success of this iconic venue.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the hotel while leading and developing a high-performing team across our restaurant, bars, functions, and guest experiences.

About the Role

As Assistant Venue Manager, you will:

- Support the Venue Manager in the daily operation and performance of the hotel

- Lead service teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences

- Drive a positive, professional, and high-performing workplace culture

- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members

- Assist with rostering, labour management, and operational planning

- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, workplace health and safety, and venue procedures

- Manage guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and care

- Maintain exceptional standards of presentation, service, and operational excellence

- Work closely with kitchen and management teams to deliver seamless service

- Assist with financial performance including cash handling, daily takings, reporting, cost awareness, and commercial decision-making

- Identify opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency, and guest satisfaction





- Lead shifts and provide hands-on support across all areas of the venue

About You

You are a motivated hospitality leader with a passion for people, food, wine, and creating memorable guest experiences. You lead from the front, remain calm under pressure, and take pride in developing teams to perform at their best.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality

- Strong food, beverage, and wine knowledge

- Exceptional leadership and communication skills

- A hands-on approach and strong work ethic

- Highly developed organisational and time-management skills

- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand venue performance and make sound commercial decisions

- Experience managing cash handling, daily takings, reconciliation processes, and operational reporting

- A proven ability to drive standards, control costs, and contribute to venue success

- Experience leading teams in a high-volume workplace

- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences

- WSET Level 3 (or equivalent wine qualification) highly desirable

- Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
