We are an established nursery-farm and horticultural production business based in Virginia, South Australia, growing and supplying nursery plants. We are seeking a reliable Irrigation Assistant to help operate and maintain irrigation systems and support day-to-day production.
Remuneration & hours
- Salary package: from $71,550 per annum plus superannuation (paid in accordance with the applicable Award; commensurate with skills and experience)
- Full time, ongoing position
- Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week, averaged over a 4-week cycle (152 hours per 4 weeks), plus guaranteed overtime of approximately 8 hours per week (paid at overtime rates) — around 46 hours per week in total.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Operate and monitor irrigation and fertigation systems
- Assist with installation,
repair and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure
- Monitor soil moisture and water application and report faults
- Assist with general production tasks as required
- Follow WHS requirements and use personal protective equipment
Skill & Experience
About you
- A relevant AQF Certificate II (or equivalent) and at least 1 year’s relevant experience; or at least 2 years’ relevant experience
- Practical mechanical aptitude
- Able to work outdoors across a range of conditions
- Able to follow directions and work in a team
- Reliable and safety-focused
