The Association Specialists
St Leonards
You'll be the person our association clients call first.
The Association Specialists (TAS) manage not-for-profit associations: their governance, their members, their boards and their day-to-day operations. We've built our reputation on doing that properly, and our clients stay with us because of it.
We're looking for an Association Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of association clients. This is a senior, client-facing role. You're not supporting someone else's relationship. You hold it.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as the primary relationship holder for your portfolio, and building a genuine working relationship with each association president and board
- Running monthly planning meetings with each client to agree the plan of work
- Preparing and issuing board and committee agendas, papers and minutes to a clear schedule
- Delivering monthly management reporting across your clients
- Keeping budgets transparent by raising overruns early and working through the options collaboratively
- Briefing and supporting the Association Client Services Coordinator who works across your portfolio
- Looking for ways to sharpen how we work, not just keep it ticking over
What you'll bring
- Solid client or account management experience,
ideally juggling several accounts at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can write a board paper and a difficult email equally well
- Solid organisational skills and real attention to detail, particularly across reporting and governance
- Confidence in front of senior stakeholders
- A proactive approach: you raise things early and turn up with options
- Comfort with Microsoft Office, project management tools like Asana, and time tracking
Helpful, but not essential:
- Not-for-profit or association sector experience
- Familiarity with boards, committees and AGMs
- Harvest or a similar time and billing tool
- Membership management systems or CRM platforms
- Event or conference coordination
What we offer
- Hybrid working from our St Leonards office, 5 days a week onsite, 3 days after onboarding
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- A genuinely varied portfolio: several associations, several sectors, no two weeks the same
- Established systems, documented processes, and a Coordinator supporting your portfolio
- A team that cares about the standard of the work, and about how we treat each other
