Accounts & Payroll Officer

Location: Subiaco | Part-Time (30 hours per week)

Salary: Salary negotiable based on payroll experience

Silver Thomas Hanley is seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to support the financial operations of our busy architectural practice. This role is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately, client invoices are issued on time, and employees are paid correctly each pay cycle.

As a key member of our Corporate Services team, you will work closely with Project Leaders, Directors and studio staff, providing financial support that contributes directly to project delivery and business performance. This is a varied role that offers exposure to all aspects of transactional finance within a skilled services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Process supplier invoices, payments, and account reconciliations
- Manage client invoicing, debtor follow-up, and receipt allocation
- Support project billing, milestone invoicing, and WIP reporting
- Process end-to-end payroll, including leave, superannuation, PAYG, and employee record maintenance




- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and company procedures
- Respond to finance and payroll enquiries professionally and confidentially
- Assist with reporting, QA audits, and continuous process improvements
- Provide reception coverage during lunch breaks and planned leave.

About You

You will have

- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Experience using accounting and payroll software (Xero)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A professional and confidential approach to handling financial information

Experience within architecture, engineering, construction, or other project-based professional services environments will be highly regarded, particularly where timesheets and project billing are involved.
