EL1 Specialist Advisor, Employment Suitability and Workforce Integrity Personnel Security & Integrity Focus Disability Sector, Federal Government

Contract, attractive $$$ Are you an experienced Personnel Security and Integrity Specialist who wants to make an impact on a national scale by reviewing and safeguarding security controls, registers, frameworks, and policy? I am currently partnering with a prominent Federal Government client in the disability sector with this exciting and specialised role, critical within the agency's workforce governance, security, and integrity functions.

About the Opportunity As the Specialist Advisor, you will lead the design, consultation, and implementation of a contemporary employee suitability framework across the entire employment lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring alignment with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), APS integrity standards, and personnel security policies, delivering expert analysis and risk-based guidance across the agency.

Key Responsibilities: Framework Development & Continuous Improvement: Lead the design, consultation, and implementation of a contemporary suitability framework, refreshing and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidance materials across the employment lifecycle. Suitability Assessment & Advisory: Apply vetting and suitability assessment principles to complex workforce cases, providing authoritative advice on risks, concerns, and appropriate mitigations.

Pre-Employment Screening & Ongoing Monitoring: Strengthen pre-employment screening settings aligned to role risk, and establish explicit, risk-informed triggers for ongoing workforce monitoring.

Risk & Governance:



Identify positions with elevated integrity/access requirements and collaborate with People, Culture, and Wellbeing teams to maintain supporting registers.

Stakeholder

Engagement & Leadership: Build strong collaborative relationships with Cyber, Fraud, Legal, Audit, and Risk teams, prepare executive briefings/papers, and mentor staff within related integrity streams.

Ideally you will possess: Significant experience in vetting, suitability assessment, personnel security, or equivalent integrity-based roles. Demonstrated experience applying Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) requirements to workforce lifecycle processes (recruitment, onboarding, suitability assessments, ongoing monitoring, and cessation).

Proven capability in interpreting complex personal information, applying structured frameworks, and determining suitability against defined standards. Highly developed judgement and decision-making skills with a proven track record of handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Qualification: Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting) is highly desirable.
