As a Machine Learning Engineer at MYOB, you will design, build, and scale AI-driven applications that support our SaaS business management platform for small and enterprise businesses across Australia and Current Zealand.

The Role

As a foundational member of the AI team, you’ll shape the technical vision, lead a small team of engineers, and build systems that directly impact customers’ success. What You’ll Do - Design and implement machine learning systems from the ground up, focusing on large language models and foundation models tailored to small business needs.

- Develop and deploy AI-powered features for automated document understanding, financial forecasting, and conversational interfaces.
- Optimize AI systems for scalability, safety, and reliability.
- Bring ideas from concept to production in a dynamic environment.
- Lead projects end‑to‑end, implementing MLOps best practices for robust and efficient solutions.



What You’ll Bring - Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience with LLMs and foundation models (GPT, Claude, Llama).
- Thought leadership and experience mentoring, coaching, or leading others.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (SageMaker, Bedrock, S3) and cloud‑based architectures.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines for ML, model versioning, monitoring, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Passion for solving real‑world challenges for small businesses through innovative AI applications.
- Creativity and resilience to thrive in ambiguous environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty) are highly desirable.
