About the Region The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. About the roles

- Based in Kingaroy

- Casual

- $39.15- $45.16 per hour + Casual Loading

Council is seeking a Casual Animal Attendant to assist in the operation of the South Burnett Animal Management Centre maintaining the welfare of animals in Council’s care, providing in-house care and assisting with rehabilitation and rehoming. The role will monitor and provide daily care for animals, including feeding, cleaning kennels/cages, exercising whilst monitoring health including basic treatment for medications as directed and infection control. Liaise and provide exceptional customer service to community members and external stakeholders whilst handling incoming calls and enquiries.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge of animal husbandry and handling skills with knowledge of animal welfare legislation and best practice skills. Sound organisational and record keeping skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.



Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position.

Mandatory Qualifications

- Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence

- Relevant qualifications in animal care or equivalent experience

- Certification in animal care or related fields
