We are looking for a First Year Apprentice Chef to join our busy team.
We are a large reputable venue with a variety of outlets which enables us to give our apprentices the entire range of experience necessary to gain your qualification. We have a lot of experience on the team and look forward to sharing it with you.
Our kitchen works at a fast pace and work schedules will include weekends.
You will need to be passionate about food, career driven and a team player. A proactive can-do attitude will get you along way.
Training for an apprentice cook covers basic culinary skills, knife skills, knowledge of ingredients, use of commercial equipment and kitchen procedures. More than this we will train you to be a valued member of our team.
Your main duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
- Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
- Working under the supervision of the chef.
- Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
- Serves food when required.
- Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation.
- Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
