Apprentice Fabricator (Light Fabrication) – Perth based
OEG Group is a large, multi-national operator within the supply base and logistics sector of the Oil & Gas industry. Our core business spans product and service supply, equipment rental, and chemical handling and storage.
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our small, dynamic team at our brand-new Perth workshop. Working alongside qualified tradespeople, you will develop practical skills in reading and interpreting structural drawings and fabricating equipment to a high standard. You will also gain hands-on experience using a range of fabrication equipment, including our CNC waterjet cutter.
This is an excellent chance for someone with a genuine interest in fabrication and metalwork who is looking to build a long-term career in the industry.
Applicants who have completed or commenced a pre-apprenticeship in Engineering – Fabrication (Sheetmetal) or can demonstrate equivalent steps towards a fabrication trade career will be strongly preferred.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have shown initiative in pursuing this career path through relevant study, work experience, trade-related projects, practical training, or other hands-on exposure to the fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing industries.
An apprenticeship may be offered to the right candidate.

- Ability to work in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in fabrication and engineering trades.
Desirable Skills
- Completed or currently undertaking a pre-apprenticeship in Engineering – Fabrication (Sheetmetal), Certificate II in Engineering Pathways, Certificate II in Engineering (Light Fabrication), or similar qualification.
- Demonstrated initiative in pursuing a fabrication or engineering trade career through relevant study, work experience, trade-related projects, practical training, or similar activities.
- Previous welding experience.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Previous exposure to a fabrication, welding, manufacturing, engineering, mechanical or construction environment.
- Current forklift licence.
- Hold a current manual driver's licence.
