Provide specialist advice and guidance, contribute to capability development, and promote innovation, continuous improvement and best practice across the business.

How to Apply Applications are to be submitted using the department’s eRecruit (online recruitment) system. When submitting your application you will be asked to provide: Resume and referees: A current, concise resume outlining your work experience, relevant skills and qualifications. You will also need to provide details of two referees who can confirm your current performance, conduct, suitability, and the claims made in your application.

Pitch (maximum 500 words): A statement outlining your suitability for the role, including what you can contribute and how your skills, knowledge and experience align with the position.

Avoid repeating information from your resume and instead include specific examples or achievements that demonstrate your capability. Recruitment processes within the APS rely on merit.

We have mechanisms in place to ensure applicants are doing the right thing. You must not share or discuss any information relating to the assessments at any time, particularly while the recruitment process is active. Sharing information such as assessment questions, sharing responses or having someone complete an assessment on your behalf goes against merit.

Applicants are expected to ensure all answers and responses are their own responses and not obtained from another source. Applicants found to have jeopardised the integrity of a process will be investigated and risk having their application withdrawn, or for APS employees, the matter may also be referred for investigation as a suspected breach of the Code of Conduct. If you choose to use AI to support you during recruitment, it’s key you understand the department’s guidelines for candidate use of AI throughout the recruitment process.
