We have an exciting opportunity for an assistant accountant, who embodies our vision and culture, to join our finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Assistant Accountant is responsible for maintaining and processing financial data to ensure compliance and accurate business reporting.
About the role
- Daily process of all clubs’ banking journals in accounting ledger accurately.
- Daily bank reconciliation (or match bank entries) in accounting ledger.
- Daily process of accounts receivable invoices and entries (eg. functions, bookings).
- Prepare accurate end-of-month bank reports by the deadlines.
- Month-end journals (eg. accruals, revenue amortisation) in accounting ledger accurately by deadlines.
- Month-end credit card journals and reconciliation by the deadlines.
- Month-end reconciliation of Balance Sheets and P&L; by deadlines.
- Accurate preparation of Australian Business Survey (ABS) by the deadlines.
- Assist Accounts Payable Clerk as necessary.
- Assist with end of financial year process, including external audit.
- Other duties/special projects as requested by Head of Finance and Financial Accountant.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in accounting (essential).
- Working experience (1 to 2 years) as Assistant Accountant in an Australian-based company (essential).
- Solid accounting skills (essential).
- High attention to detail (essential).
- High analytical skills (essential).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (essential).
- CA/CPA qualification (desirable).
- Advanced excel skills (desirable).
- Working knowledge of NetSuite accounting ledger (desirable).
- Knowledge of club’s policies procedures (desirable).
