We are looking for a high performing Associate Environmental Engineer / Scientist to join our Contaminated Land team in Melbourne to provide strong technical and/or project management expertise across a range of projects to major clients .
About the Position
This permanent, full-time role involves leading and delivering projects to some of Australia’s largest waste management companies, as well as local and rural Councils. We encourage you to work to your strengths and draw upon Resolve’s supporting team of highly skilled senior technical staff and eager junior staff to deliver projects such as annual monitoring programs, Hydrogeological Assessments, Landfill Gas Risk Assessments, remediation programs as well as landfill construction and design (landfill cell, landfill cap, leachate extraction systems, landfill gas extraction systems).
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing projects from inception to completion.
- Authoring high-quality technical reports independently or with support from Resolve’s experienced, multi-disciplinary team.
- Utilising your strengths to support other projects within the Contaminated Land sector and wider Resolve business.
- Coordinating and overseeing fieldwork programs, ensuring teams are fully prepared and supported.
- Liaising with clients, Environmental Auditors, and sub-contractors.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff in fieldwork, report writing, and proposal development.
About You
You’re a high-performing professional with consulting experience in general Contaminated Land sectors with a client-focused mindset who takes pride in your work, brings strong technical judgement, clear communication, and a growth mindset to every project.
Key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant work experience, with specialist experience within a Contaminated Land portfolio.
- Strong project management and client relationship skills.
- Strong report writing capabilities, including technical reports (as outlined in ‘About the Position’ above).
- Working knowledge of local, state, and national environmental standards and guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leads by example on health and safety requirements as well as experience in health and safety reporting and management.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Detailed understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in multiple jurisdictions
